30 teams in 30 days: Tampa Bay Rays

Last year was quite a year for the Rays. After losing some of their biggest stars, the rays made a remarkable run in September and caught and passed the Red Sox to win the AL Wildcard. This year the Rays are back and should be contenders once again. Carlos Pena is back in Tampa after going to the cubs for a year and he brings back his power from the left side of the plate. Evan Longoria is one of the best in the game today and He should have a great season this year as well. Desmond Jennings should be back at the top of the order and is looking to build on a quality rookie season. The Rays also have a very solid starting staff with guys like David Price, Matt Shields, and last year’s AL Rookie of the year Jeremy Hellickson. Also watch out for Matt Moore who showed last October that he is a force to be reckoned with on the mound.

All in all this should be a good year for the Rays and I see them taking 1 of the 2 AL Wild Card spots.

Come back tomorrow for a preview of the Toronto Blue Jays.
