30 teams in 30 days: Toronto Blue Jays

Today we finish up the AL East by taking a look at the Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays enter 2012 with a pretty decent team, the only problem? They’re stuck in a division with the Yankees, Red Sox, and Rays. The Blue Jays have some pretty good young players but they are young and some of them don’t have a lot of big league experience. The offense once again will be centered on Jose Bautista as he tries to make it 3 straight seasons of leading the big leagues in home runs. Colby Rasmus had a disappointing 2011 and it will be interesting to see how he does this year.

The rotation will be led again by Romero who had a pretty good year in 2011. It will be interesting to watch Brandon Morrow as he continues to progress. He still has some work to do but he could be a very good pitcher in this rotation. All in all the Blue Jays should have a solid season this year. They won’t make the playoffs but they will finish 4th in the east and they’ll finish above .500

Tomorrow I start looking at the AL West starting with the Angels.
